Evanston Community Yarn Art Project

The Project
We are trying to add color to the neighborhood with the help of Chiaravalle School, the community & the merchants. We are creating colorful circles in assorted sizes that will be stitched together and then wrapped around the trees in the neighborhood. The more we get the more trees we can cover. We will also be making chains/friendship bracelets that can wrap around smaller trees & parking meter bases. We will install the project prior to YEA fest- The week of May 11th. YEA Festival will be in Raymond Park on May 16 this year and this will be a great way to continue art in the neighborhood even if it’s in a small way. Click here to learn more about the event.

Stop by on Sunday, April 19th at Spex and help us decorate the neighborhood with a yarn art project! We are going to yarn bomb the Chicago Avenue & Dempster Street corridor- the more we get the more trees we cover.

No experience necessary. Yarn is provided. Donations to offset the cost of the yarn are welcome.

Come get yarn & take it home to work on, we need all yarn pieces by May 6th.

If you have further questions or want to get started now, stop by Stumble & Relish (1310 A Chicago Ave) or email Jaime at stumbleandrelish@gmail.com
