One State Together in the Arts Conference


Keynote Announced!

Internationally acclaimed visual artist Kerry James Marshall and award-winning actor/writer/director Cheryl Lynn Bruce will keynote the One State Together in the Arts conference this September 28 & 29 in Evanston.

Cheryl and KerryAn arts power couple, they are collaborators who are also known individually for their work investigating urgent issues of equity, opportunity, and justice. Kerry uses painting, sculptural installations, collage, video, and photography to comment on the history of black identity. Cheryl has performed with Writers Theatre, Victory Gardens Theater, Steppenwolf Theatre, Goodman Theatre, Missouri Repertory, and more. In addition to her role as an actor, she is also an educator and director, who’s developed projects around the lives of historically significant black artists and scholars.
