How fun that I get to put "Big Butt" in my headline today and it's not to mock but to celebrate a new play opening for Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre. Read below!
Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre's fourth and final main stage play of their Summer 2013 season is Big Butt Girls and Other Fantasies — The Remix! The play will run from August 10 to August 25 at the Noyes Cultural Arts Center, 927 Noyes St. in Evanston.
Playwright Marsha Estell (Heat) is brilliantly funny and bittersweet in this solo performance. Audiences will join Marty as she longs for her childhood on the South Side of Chicago. All she cared about was listening to James Brown, dancing with her father and developing into a “Brick-House!" Now, trapped by varicose veins, hot flashes and that "middle-aged middle," Marty will lead you in a performance both hilarious and bittersweet.
